Job Title: Solutions Designer 

Location: Onsite at RITE HQ, 1744 Independence Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34234 (Some local travel required)

Starting Pay: $62,920 annually at 50 hours a week plus benefits.

As a Solutions Designer, you’ll play a critical role in turning ideas into reality, ensuring seamless implementation of tailored technology systems that enhance our clients’ environments.

 

What You’ll Do: The Solutions Designer is a client-facing professional with a knack for problem-solving, technology and meticulous planning. This role involves collaborating with clients, project teams and vendors to design, implement and optimize physical security, access control and audio/visual (A/V) systems. Ideal candidates will have a background in technology, low-voltage systems, or related fields and a passion for creating inventive solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Client Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the design and implementation phases.
  • Understand client needs and translate them into actionable, customized solutions.
  • Present project plans and designs, ensuring clear communication and alignment with client goals.

System Design:

  • Design tailored solutions for physical security, access control and A/V systems based on client specifications.
  • Draft and refine project plans, including equipment lists, schematics, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to select and procure the right components.

Pre-Implementation Planning:

  • Conduct site surveys to assess client locations and determine design feasibility.
  • Develop and deliver detailed project documentation, including blueprints and installation instructions.
  • Coordinate with contractors, electricians and carpenters to ensure successful system preparation.

Post-Implementation Support:

  • Oversee system testing and commissioning to ensure proper functionality.
  • Train clients on system operations and provide ongoing support as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve post-installation issues, collaborating with the support team as necessary.

Technical Expertise:

  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to create and manage project budgets, schedules, and data.
  • Apply knowledge of low-voltage systems to support installations and troubleshooting.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in physical security, access control, and A/V systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer competency.
  • Proven ability to interact with clients professionally and build lasting relationships.
  • Experience in designing or working with physical security and access control systems.
  • Technology-savvy with an enthusiasm for innovative solutions.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Inventive mindset, capable of creating custom solutions for unique challenges.
  • Preferred: Experience in low-voltage systems, A/V technology or related fields (training available).
  • Background in carpentry, electrical work or a similar trade is a plus.
